Kermanshah as a
Health Tourism Destination
Being recognized as the leading destination for medical tourists in the west of Iran, Kermanshah welcomes thousands of international patients—particularly from Iraq—every year. Many of these visitors choose Kermanshah because it offers highly specialized medical treatments that are not only reliable but also significantly more cost-effective compared to similar services in other countries.
The city is home to modern, well-equipped hospitals and clinics, supported by experienced and highly skilled medical specialists across a wide range of fields. Among the most sought-after services are various types of eye surgeries, cardiac surgeries, organ transplantation, dental procedures, cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, hair transplantation, fertility treatments, gynecological procedures, and comprehensive cancer treatments.
In addition, Kermanshah benefits from an excellent climate, remarkable natural and historical attractions, and a diverse range of cultural, historical, natural, and man-made tourist sites. Its long shared border with Iraq, along with linguistic similarities and strong cultural and ethnic ties, makes travel convenient for Iraqi patients. The affordability of medical services, combined with the expertise of skilled surgeons and the use of modern medical equipment, further strengthens Kermanshah’s position as a leading health tourism destination in the region.
